Good day, developers!

The "apptools-admin" project is not only a set of tools for the administrator, but a platform for the rapid creation of a prototype of any solution. For example, Photo Album, Music Player, and Personal Library all come together in a user-friendly treasure chest design.

Load http:// your-host:your-port/apptoolsrest/a/infochest

Change the path to your treasure files and start viewing, listening or reading from any convenient device: desktop, tablet or smartphone.

The example will be located at ${CSPdir}/apptools/files

After saving and updating the panel, you can select a music track.

The built-in HTML5 player is used to play music.

The Lightbox Component is used to view pictures and videos: UiKit.

All "chest" code is located in the class apptools.lte.infochest and can be easily modified to suit your needs. Vote for this project apptools-admin.

Happy coding!

The pandemic that struck the world in 2020 made everyone follow the news and the numbers that involve the COVID-19.

Why don’t you take that opportunity to create something simple and pleasant, to follow the number of vaccinations worldwide?

To face this challenge, I'm using the data provided by Our World in Data - Research and data to make progress against the world’s largest problems.

They have a dedicated repository on Github with the data of COVID-19, and I took the vaccination data to help me with my tracker.

If you didn't know the guys, check it out, it well worth your time. Github repository

The application iris-vaccine-tracker has three different pages.

  1. The main dashboard
  2. The data table with detailed information presented in the dashboard
  3. The heat map

Dashboard

The main dashboard provides a quick overview of the vaccination situation around the world.

The first widget offers the info about :

  • How many vaccines are being used to vaccinate the population
  • How many countries provide information about vaccination
  • Total of vaccinations applied so far.

The second widget gives us the timeline view of vaccination with the top 10 countries with the most significant vaccination numbers.

The third widget offers a bar chart with the top countries, showing the total vaccination so far.

And the final widget, we have the distribution of vaccines, which vaccines are being used, and their percent of usage.

Datatable

The data table shows the detailed information that the main dashboard summarized.

Heat Map

The heat map is a different view using the info that we already used in the main dashboard and data table—but now using a detail provided by the Country persistent table. The amCharts library uses the ISO Code Alpha2, Country Name, and Value to create this awesome chart.

Hi guys!

I'd like to present you my new project: iris-analytics-notebook, a notebook approach to use IRIS analytics capabilities.

Project description

In past few years, notebooks tools like Jupyter are gaining popularity due its natural way to express ideias.

An almost unipresent tool for data scientists, notebook can also help to improve the impact of analytics tools for all sort of users.

This project is my attemp to implement a simple notebook system, combining IRIS Analytics capabilities, with a custom notebook system - largelly inspired by Jupyter notebooks.

With this project you can:

  • Create pivot tables for IRIS Analytics cubes and display the results in table and/or chart layouts
  • Import an IRIS Analytics dashboard
  • Express ideas througth powerfull text styling capabilities provided by Markdown format.

Please, notice that this project is in early developement, so a lot of planned features aren't implemented yet. But the main ideia of nootebook and its different sort of cells is already avaialble.

Application screencasts

Using the notebook UI:

Forking a notebook:

Technologies used:

The pivot table feature is provided by IRIS Analytics Business Intelligence REST API. This powerfull API allows you to get virtually all information about data sources managed by IRIS Analytics, their dimensions, measures, filters, as perform MDX queries as well.

IRIS Analytics also allows you to embed dashboards into your application. So, I decided to release a feature which you can embed IRIS Analytics dashboards into your notebook.

Front end was built using Angular and Angular Material, among other libraries. Markdown is processed by ngx-markdown.

A simple API for saving notebooks was developed using RESTForms2 project.

This project also uses ZPM to install demo data sources to be used (Samples-BI and iris-analytics-template).

Credits

This project used the project iris-sample-rest-angular as angular and REST template.

Web Crawling is a technique used to extract root and related content (HTML, Videos, Images, etc.) from websites to your local disk. This is allows you apply NLP to analyze the content and get important insights. This article detail how to do web crawling and NLP.

To do web crawling you can choose a tool in Java or Python. In my case I'm using Crawler4J. (https://github.com/yasserg/crawler4j).

Crawler4j is an open source web crawler for Java which provides a simple interface for crawling the Web. Using it, you can setup a multi-threaded web crawler in few minutes.

Report about what happened during a test - check Message Bank to see what happened on the instances that received test messages from Feeder

I developed Feeder on an IRIS instance while working in development VPC and I configured a Message Bank in a different namespace on the same IRIS instance. I added Feeder.csp and submitted Feeder app to Full Stack contest. I currently refactor the Feeder and Message Bank apps for Interoperability contest and to deploy in another VPC.

Below I show a sample report from development VPC:
